Lamson reels are known for their bulletproof sealed conical drag system, making it perfect for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.  The sealed drag provides long lasting performance with no maintenance.  That’s a great combination.  It has a large arbor design to it is able to retrieve line quickly if a fish takes a run right at you.  It is also able to handle the burst of a wild downstream jaunt.  The fully machined reel with proprietary Hard Alox finish is very good looking, but the best part of the reel is its performance.  The drag is super smooth and easily handles a quick jolt without breaking off.  

Within the last year the Velocity was redesigned.  Using a unique, “3 plane” pocket milling technique, every aspect of performance, strength-to-weight ratio, line pick-up speed and storage has been improved. And as is often the case, the distinctive new engineered “truss” wall structures give Velocity a personality all its own.
