Strike Indicator & Nymphing?

Q:  What is the most effective strike indicator to use when nymphing; for visibility and for not spooking fish?

A: Professional Fishing Guide Josh Garris:

I will carry several different styles and sizes of strike indicators. The one that I use the most is the Thingamabobber in the ¼” or ½” size. I will normally use a pink or orange for most situations. If the fish are acting spooked I will use a white or a glow in the dark. Both of these colors can be a little harder to see but they blend in wonderfully with the bubble line. My next favorite choice of indicator is to use Biostrike puddy. Being able to decide the size of the indicator is very appealing to me. The one complaint that I hear from clients is that Biostrike “comes off too easily”, my response to them is that they are probably casting too much.
